Eli is my dog that was living with my mom. I brought him home with me the other day and he loves it here. He goes outside with the other dogs and doesn't try and run away. He loves running along the fence with the pigs and he licks them when they get close enough. He tries to play with the chickens and ducks but he is getting better with that. He watches Penelope with Goosey sometimes but not as often as she does. He loves it out here :)
I got the cutest little guinea pig ever! Her name is Penelope and she looks like a zebra. There is a little girl in Baker who had a guinea pig that had babies and she was selling them for $25.
I purchased a dozen chickens. One died from a cat. I put the other 11 outside and a big white dog came and ate them. My ducks luckily went inside their house and were safe from the dog. Grandma Rhonda gave me 7 more chickens. Hopefully they survive and give us some eggs.
I was looking online at harnesses for ducks. They are really expensive. Each on is $40. I decided I was just going to buy dog harnesses because they were half as much. The duck harnesses have duck diapers attached. It sounds weird but it is a really good idea. I am just going to go and make those with my grandma because that will be a lot cheaper than buying them.
My ducks are so big. I can't fit them both in one hand anymore. They follow me when I call them but don't like to be held. They love to swim. They are starting to get their feathers.
I got my ducklings today. They are adorable! They are cayuga ducks so they are completely black. I have a bowl that I fill with water and they swim around in it. I love them so much! I put them in my guinea pig cage.
Daisy is all dried up now. Rock, the last baby that was on her' is eating a lot of hay and growing. There will not be anything new happening with her. She is in with the angus bulls so hopefully she gets pregnant. What I am excited for is my ducks. I have two ducks coming that I am going to show for showmanship in the fair. They are hopefully going to arrive next week. I have been waiting for a month. They will be cayuga ducks which are black as ducklings and turn a really shiny green as adults. We are also getting our baker pigs for fair on Saturday. The halfway pigs will come later. At some point we will have 7 pigs total. Now all we have to do to prepare for all these animals is make the pens.
